چکیده

Assessment of the big cities bioclimate during heat wave (HW) events is a highly topical issue and focus point for many researchers. Reliable results assessment stress (HS) intensity HWs form basis development implementation adaptation measures. In Ukraine, first HW studies started only few years ago, thermal comfort conditions these atmospheric phenomena have not been explored yet. The purpose this article to assess characteristic features in Kyiv events. based on index – physiologically equivalent temperature (PET). RayMan model was used simulate PET values. As shown study, period 1961–2020, 24 were observed Kyiv. Those characterized by different duration (from 6 18 days) (with maximum value cumulative Ta,MAX 108.6°C). Thermal registered waves varying from slight (23.7°C) extreme (47.0°C). To impact human, classification mean values single its proposed. According classification, belong three following grades: with moderate, strong, HS. Analysis research demonstrates four (4) moderate stress, nineteen (19) strong one (1) (specifically, late July–first half August 2010). daily at 12 UTC varied 37°C 47°C much higher than days 2005 2014.

Radiant Heat and Thermal Comfort in Vehicles

Infrared-reflective (IRR) treatment of automotive glass has been shown to reduce air temperature in vehicle cabins, thereby increasing fuel economy and occupant comfort. Its effect on radiant heat, however, may augment these benefits. In this study, the hypothesis that radiant heat affects subjective comfort ratings in a vehicle was tested. IRR films were systematically applied to the driver-si...

Dynamic thermal comfort conditions in architecture

This paper will outline a research project currently being undertaken at The University of Melbourne aimed at developing a dynamic model of architectural comfort. Much of the energy used in buildings goes to providing suitable levels of environmental provision – light, heat and air – for building occupants. In terms of thermal performance, the levels have been determined principally through res...

Thermal comfort and the heat stress indices.

Thermal stress is an important factor in many industrial situations, athletic events and military scenarios. It can seriously affect the productivity and the health of the individual and diminish tolerance to other environmental hazards. However, the assessment of the thermal stress and the translation of the stress in terms of physiological and psychological strain is complex. For over a centu...

The human thermoneutral and thermal comfort zones: Thermal comfort in your own skin blood flow

Human thermoregulation is achieved via autonomic and behavioral responses. Autonomic responses involve 2 synchronous 'components'. One counteracts large thermal perturbations, eliciting robust heat loss or gain (i.e., sweating or shivering). The other fends off smaller insults, relying solely on changes in sensible heat exchange (i.e., skin blood flow). This sensible component occurs within the...
